Strength, precision, and flow

A good workout may be what brings you in, but Pilates can offer much more than a series of exercises.

Your body isn’t a collection of separate parts, and I don’t teach it that way. I look at how your spine, joints, muscles, breath, and nervous system are working together, then build each session around what your body actually needs. Sometimes that means working hard. Sometimes it means slowing down enough to notice what you’ve been working around for years. Usually, it’s both.

My work is grounded in anatomy and biomechanics, but I’m always paying attention to the whole person.

The work is precise and intelligent, but there is also room for intuition, curiosity, and laughter.

Serious About the Work.
Not Too Serious About Myself.

I’m curious by nature and genuinely enjoy figuring things out with people. I can become extremely invested in a quarter-centimeter change in foot placement, and I also believe that discipline, humor, and play belong in the same room.

I believe that caring well for others requires me to continue doing my own work. I take classes, attend workshops, maintain my own movement practice, meditate, and make time for honest self-reflection.  Not because I expect perfection from myself, but because attention is something we practice.

This work helps me care for myself and my family and allows me to meet my clients with greater presence, curiosity, and integrity. I never want to stop enjoying life or stop being a student of the body and life.

what a session looks like

Every body has a history, and that history becomes part of how we move. It shows up in our posture, breath, muscles, and the ways we organize ourselves through an exercise, often in patterns we don’t realize we’ve developed.

When you arrive, we check in with how your body feels, your energy level, and what you want to work on that day. From there, we may move between the reformer, tower, chair, mat, weights, and props, combining strength, mobility, and functional movement in a way that makes sense for you.

Some parts of the session are slower and more focused. Others are more dynamic. I adjust the springs, setup, range of motion, tempo, and cues in real time so the work remains specific and appropriately challenging. With your permission, I may also use hands-on guidance to help you sense an alignment or movement more clearly.

You’ll leave with more than a workout. Over time, you begin to recognize your own movement patterns, understand what helps your body feel supported, and carry that awareness into the way you move outside the studio.

You don’t need to be strong, flexible, or know your way around a reformer. You may arrive with a specific goal, something that has been bothering you, or a desire to feel stronger and more connected to your body. We’ll begin with what you’re noticing and build from there.
